W00t.
Now all I need is to know how to fucking help someone when they've injured themselves, passed out, or done more damage than cut their finger.
Here's hoping I get to go for defib training!

Its almost impossible to get a job around here without being required to do 1st Aid training. Fortunately most employers pay for it rather than leave it to employees to cover the cost.
Boring stuff, though I like to keep track of how many things change over the years, especially CPR.

Skillo. I've been wanting to do a first aid course myself recently, but the oppertunity's still to arise. Trouble is, at my work, one of the guys has various issues, of which one is that he is occasionally struck down by intense chest pains. Being as how I'm not First Aid trained, I can carry him to the first aid room, but I can't do anything in there, and technically, I'm not authorised to even enter, so strictly speaking I should carry him to the door, and then just dump him on the ground and let him crawl the rest of the way. Rather sucky, really.
And the other kick-ass thing about being first aid trained is that if you join one of those civilian ambulance services things, you can blag free entry to various music festivals. Yep, you have to work, but you work shifts and the rest of your time is yours to spend as you please. Free entry to Glastonbury, then. Score!
So, 'tis rather good that this thread reminds me. I'll drop a letter to my manager tonight, and see if I can set some things in motion.
