Its a long story, but the short version is that thanks to the local electricity retailer not knowing their arses from their elbows, we are disconnected from the power grid until the house renovations are complete. Something to do with scaffolding too close to a power line in spite of the insulation we had bolted to it at vast expense...
Got to live with a massive diesel generator in the driveway for at least the next week. And no power at night due to sound restrictions. Fucking cunts.
