I got it on the strength of the PCG review and the comments of an RPG whore over at the PCG forums. I liked it so much I've already splurged for the DLC.

Ok, so I install it for her then have a quick play to check it's all good. Random char, Dwarf Noble. Amazing. She plays a bit, then once she's stopped for the night, I do a proper character gen and OH MY FUCKING GOD IT'S AMAZING.

Human noble warrior.

I'm a fucking idiot, by the way. My party is just me, Al, Morrigan and Boggins, my warhound. I never alter it. Ah well.

I actually take Leliana along most of the time. I'm currently playing as a mage, and hence need someone to pick locks.

She's developed into quite a nice archer. Makes for some useful ranged support.

I've found a use for her. Plot-important chest needed to be opened. Stuck her in the party, opened it, kicked her out.

If you get the Stonekeep DLC, Shale makes an awesome addition. Especially once you get him some good equipment.

I wasn't going to get it until I'd finished Op Fap Drag For but I'm so fucking fed up with being stuck for several days at a time on OPDF that I ordered this last night.

And you said on PCGF that the DLC was fucked (I was looking on there to see what people said about the game, as I haven't bought a games mag for about 4 yrars or more).

The DLC download system was fucked on release day. Once it was all installed it worked just fine.

In fact I haven't run into a bug yet. And no CTD issues either. Most reliable game I've played for a long time.

The DLC is actually worth it - Stonekeep gives an extra companion who is just awesome (both as an extra warrior, but also his dialogue is just brilliant), Soldier's Peak has some extra gear plus the only "party chest" in the entire game.

Doing part of the final battle now. According to the stats, I've only touched upon 39% of the game. Once I've done it, I need to restart with a different character.

Only major complaint so far is just how large the dungeons are. I end up halfway through one, and I just think "Christ, this really ought to be finished by now" and I'm begging for the boss fight.
Oh, that and the usual party-based thing where I use three characters and ignore everyone else. But that's because I just tank everywhere. Never used a bow and arrow.

I think the default size in DAO is a D cup (at minimum). And that doesn't count the Desire Demons, who wear nothing more than a couple of tassels.

I'm finding this to be a series of extemely long cut-scenes interspersed with really not very good combat and awful controls. Am I wrong?
